The Priceless Gift Of Unconditional Love

Through our God-given dreams, He can reach way back in the archives of our lives to speak such a timely word to us as we continue to bless others. Such was the revelatory download in my head as I lay in my bed during the early morning hours of February 11, 2023. After meditating on this dream, I’m reminded of the priceless gift of unconditional love.

There can be instances when decoding prophetic dreams wherein more emphasis needs to be placed upon elements appearing in the dream other than the meaning of people’s names. However, in this recent one, the names are to be prioritized.

The Cast Of Characters.

When the dream began, I was driving our older model Ford Explorer ® pickup. This was the ultimate outdoor rig from the 1980s that could go where there were no roads. Oh my, what fun explorations and adventures we experienced in the desert mountains while driving and riding in our Explorer!

Sherry, the passenger in our pickup in this dream, asked me if I would be willing to visit her daughter, Melissa. With a certain hesitancy in her voice, she continued to explain that Melissa had done a lot of good things with her life since I’d seen her as a young toddler.

It was then I realized that perhaps Sherry thought I might be prejudging her daughter in some way even though I had no first-hand knowledge of anything.

I told Sherry that I would be more than happy to visit Melissa and was excited to hear whatever she wanted to share with me.

In the next scene of this dream, I was inside a house that was not ours in real life. A man named John was there, and he was speaking to me about my upcoming visit with Melissa. The main point of his message was to render unconditional love, acceptance, and encouragement to Melissa.

The dream ended before I saw Melissa or was able to visit her. The main thing is that I had agreed to do so.

Sherry, Melissa, & John.

The meaning of Sherry’s name is as follows:

“Literal Meaning: Little Womanly One

Suggested Character Quality: Cherished One

Suggested Lifetime Scripture Verse: Zephaniah 3:17,

“The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”1

The name Melissa is of Greek origin:

“Inherent Meaning: Honey Bee

Spiritual Connotation: Industrious, Creative

Scripture: James 2:22,

“Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect (complete)?”2

John, one of the most popular names of all time, means:

“Literal meaning: God Is Gracious

Suggested Character Quality: God’s Gracious Gift

Suggested Lifetime Scripture Verse: Numbers 6:25,

“The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you.”1

Melissa – Honey Bee – Sherry said in the dream about all of the things that Melissa had done in her life. She had been as busy as a bee!

John, and the scripture verse paired with his name, reminds us that as we extend grace to others, God’s grace abounds toward us more and more.

Share Your  Love.

What is your favorite Bible verse as it pertains to the subject of love?

“And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’” (1 Peter 4:8)

The ultimate love gift was Jesus’s atoning death on the cross which covered our multitude of sins.

Double Scriptural John 3:16’s.

“By this we know love, because He [Jesus] laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Sherry and Melissa speak of the generations and the power of generational love which we must never discount. God’s demonstration of His power and love is built upon the generations of families.

To quote one of the most famous playwrights of all time, William Shakespeare, “Love sought is good, but given unsought is better.”

Prophetic Insights For Daily Living.

#1. Reflecting upon the symbolism of our Ford Explorer in my dream, I needed to explore, with the Lord’s help and love, this assignment that He was giving to me for Melissa.

A vehicle symbolizes someone’s life, a ministry or ministry gift, or an individual person.

As you spend time in the Lord’s presence, seek Him as to whom He would have you explore to share His priceless love and gift of eternal life.

Ask yourself, who’s on the radar of your love scope now?

What are some very practical ways that you can show love to him or her?

Actions can sometimes open a door quicker than words. This ties in with the positive symbolism of the number 11 which is an open door (see #2 below).

God will help you put your feet to faith to implement an action plan!

#2. The number eleven (I received this prophetic dream during the early morning hours of February 11, 2023), typically carries a negative tone of judgment, disorder, imperfection, and incompleteness.

The positive aspect of this number is an open door.

It’s interesting in this dream that I received a sudden open door invitation from Sherry who was concerned that I would prejudge her daughter’s imperfections before hearing about the completeness of her life into adulthood.

This serves as a good reminder to make sure our hearts and spirits are clean before the Lord and that we are not taking a stand of unrighteous judgment toward anyone.

The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 66:18-19,

“If I regard iniquity in my heart,
The Lord will not hear.
But certainly God has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.”

#3. Sherry’s accompanying lifetime scripture verse is Zephaniah 3:17 which includes, “The Mighty One, will save.”

There is such a paramount emphasis on the salvation of souls every day that we live.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

My first prophetic blog post of the calendar year 2023 addressed the subject of God being The Mighty One or God Almighty.

#4. Have you ever experienced extravagant, unconditional love from someone? If so, how did it make you feel? Did this help to strengthen and encourage you? As a result, were you able in turn to love someone else unconditionally?

Everyone is in a different place in their spiritual walk, and some people have still not yet come into the kingdom of God by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9-10)

Those of us who are believers in Jesus Christ must exercise patience and love toward everyone.

“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.” (1 Corinthians 4:1-5)

#5. What aspects or portions of this prophetic dream speak to you and why?

It’s encouraging that God pays attention to the minutest details of our lives and speaks to us in such unique ways that He reveals what’s on His heart.

#6. Shortly after Jesus washed His disciples’ feet, He commanded them,

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

I hope that all of us can find room in our hearts for the equivalent of washing someone else’s feet by rendering unto them the priceless gift of unconditional love.

May we never underestimate the power of the cross of Jesus Christ to transform someone’s life.

My prayer is that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that we will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. (Philemon 1:6)
